A poem by Arlon H Boozer
He who dares question the world's might
Hath already begun to win the fight.
For in this dying world of yesterday
There is only a minority of right.
Only one to speak, just one to say
Could change someone's mind in a small way.
Give us courage we need to be bold
And not let our destiny cause us to sway.
The place in which we live is so cold
That all that is good can still be sold.
Often even the beauty of a love that is pure
Which will not allow its own to uphold
Each of us have the strength to endure
All we have can be made more secure.
In the end we must the battle win
As long as one mind will not give in.
Once I went to the ballet
And did not know what to call it.
My friend said, “This is ballet.”
And I said, “You don’t say.”
I got to see the good faeries dance
Every time they got a chance --
They rolled and they flew
And when they were through
With no doubt I knew
Nothing so funny would I do.
A poem from my book ABC Poems For Kids
Inside a head a child can dream
Almost anything, so it would seem.
Imaginary friends hiding behind a rock,
Running a race around the block.
Inch worms crawling right up your leg,
Drinking Kool-Aid from a wood keg.
Imagine a house and a doll
Or having a green bird called Poll.
It is now time to go to sleep
Maybe to have more dreams to keep.
Prayer at Day’s End
by Arlon Boozer
Another long day has come to end,
Turning to a lonely night,
Trying my feelings to defend,
I hope for your love with all my might.
I close each day with a sweet prayer
Knowing I'll wake with you still there.
Making each day hurry along,
To rush into night's dreams;
Helps my faith become more strong
And light the heart with thought's beams.
With this I'm trying to say
That without you I cannot stay.
